Long Hallway Runners

Long hallways need a runner that reaches from end to end. This collection brings together runners in 4 m and 5 m lengths (400 x 80 cm and 500 x 80 cm), in modern, traditional, boho and natural fibre styles.

How to measure for a hallway runner

• Length: measure the hallway and leave about 15 to 30 cm of floor showing at each end. A 4.5 m hallway suits a 4 m runner, and a 5.5 m hallway suits a 5 m runner.
• Width: leave about 10 to 15 cm of floor on each side. An 80 cm runner suits hallways about 100 to 110 cm wide.
• Doors: check that doors along the hall clear the runner, especially with thicker pile.
• Longer than 5 m: two runners laid end to end with a small gap can cover a very long corridor.

Keeping a runner in place

Hallways carry a lot of foot traffic. A non-slip rug pad under the runner stops it creeping or bunching on timber, tiles and carpet. Our runner-size pads are 380 x 70 cm and can be trimmed with scissors, so a 4 m or 5 m runner takes two pads laid end to end.
