Vacuum on a suction-only setting — no beater bar. Blot liquid spills promptly with a clean dry cloth without rubbing. Spot clean with mild detergent and lukewarm water as needed.

Measure the area out first. Take a measuring tape and measure out the area. A good way to help visualise the size of the rug is to simply pick a size you think will work and use masking tape to outline the area you would want to place the rug in.
